If you’re lucky enough to be a student with a car, then there are two downsides – firstly, it can be immensely difficult to find a quote for cheap car insurance and secondly, all your mates will want to use you as a taxi to get them to lectures on time!

Young drivers have their work cut out when it comes to finding a cheap quote for their car insurance, because younger people are statistically more likely to have an accident, so the premiums are much higher, especially if this is your first car.

So, just how do you go about finding a cheap student car insurance quote? Are there any ways to bring your premium down? Here are a few tips to help you get a cheap car insurance quote.

First of all, get the cheapest quote you can using comparison sites – this will give you an idea of how much your premium is likely to be. Many insurance companies who specialise in student car insurance will be included on these comparison sites, look out for companies like Endsleigh Insurance, who have policies that are designed especially for students. These premiums mean that you only have to pay for what you need, not all those fancy extras that you’ll never use. You can also try going direct to these companies to see if they will give you a cheaper quote by going directly through them.
There are also some ways that you can help to bring your premium down. If you’ve just passed your test, opt to go for the extra courses, like Pass Plus, which will prove to insurers that you’re a responsible driver and you’ve had experience driving on motorways. Also, opt for a car that’s cheap and unmodified. There are several economical cars in the lowest insurance band, so it’s worth finding out what these are before your buy.

Skyjet SJ-125-23 – Problems

Reviews

Kaiser 125

Kaiser SJ 125

SJ 125

SJ 125-23

Skyjet

SkyJet 125

Skyjet SJ-125-23

Well it seems that although Lexmoto has brought out the SJ-125-24 version which is an updated version of the Skyjet Sj-125-23 and like many other imports which all are the same just under different manufactures names but not holding out much hope for the new Lexmoto's version as My brother owns an Skyjet SJ-125-23 which is only used to travel to and from work.

It seems that Lexmoto has recently released the Skyjet SJ-125-24, an updated version of the Skyjet SJ-125-23, similar to many imported motorbikes under different manufacturers. However, because of the numerous amount of problems with the 125-23, there seems to be little hope for the new version; it seems almost an impossibility that all of its problems will be fixed in one quick update. My brother owns a Skyjet SJ-125-23, and consequently, I was able to test it out.

However, typical of the build of many Chinese imports, after traveling 6000 miles, the gearbox has blown. Later this week I will be stripping Skyjet SJ-125-23 of its engine and tuning it up to make sure it will run properly. I will also be replacing all the screws and bolts, because I find that once you take them off, they never go back on without breaking/snapping.

Lexmoto hasn’t had any new information released to its suppliers about the previous problems with the SJ-125-23. All 125-23’s are made the same way, with the same parts, regardless of the manufacturer. Nothing new has been said about the bad quality of the parts, or the constant rattling of the engine that makes riding so unbearable. Therefore, it’s safe to assume that the problems still exist, and the only thing that has changed is a superficial revision in the design of the bike.

Personally, I have been begging my brother to scrap this piece of junk and buy a CBR 125 or YZF-125, but he still wants to ride the Skyjet SJ-125-23 and later transition to a car when he is ready. Of course, this decision is lazy as well as costly. The Skyjet SJ-125-23 is prone to breakdowns, which means I’m responsible for repairing the devilish monstrosity. Repairing the Skyjet sometimes requires days, if not weeks of work, depending on what has broken and how long it takes to receive the new parts after ordering them online. Normally I receive them within three business days, but sometimes it could take up to a week to receive all the parts.

Take my advice: stay away from the CBR replicas. I have tried many imported scooters and bikes, and don’t get me wrong: most of them are fine. But when companies try to replicate a good racing bike such as the Honda CBR 125, they run into problems. Simply put, they cannot keep up with the performance of the real bike, using cheap parts. Higher end imports that you buy locally guarantee the best performance, while buying online could result in you buying a damaged product, often returned and resold. When you buy online, you have no one to complain to when things go wrong (and believe me, you are guaranteed to get even a slight problem in functionality).

Vauxhall Corsa 1.6 VXR Review

Reviews

Vaxuhall VXR

No truly great hot hatch can be referred to as such without sporting a suitably tasty interior, and the Corsa’s cabin is as good in some areas as it is bad in others. We at Car-Advise like the clarity of the dashboard, think the standard-fit Recaro front seats (complete with side airbags) are superb, and appreciate the strong basic packaging of the three-door Corsa bodyshell, including its roomy rear seats and boot.

However, some of the minor details, most of which have been applied in the name of VXR branding, are less successful. The deeply naffed VXR-logoed gear lever and the gimmicky flat-bottomed steering wheel, which neither looks nor feels anything like the steering wheel of a Golf GTi, is among them.

Then again, you can’t really argue against the VXR’s showroom appeal, its basic value for money, OR the level of standard equipment it provides compared with similarly priced rivals. You get air conditioning, those beefy Recaro front seats, and a high-end stereo as standard for your £15,595. Yes, that makes the VXR almost £500 cheaper than its key rivals from Renault and Mini, neither of which is as well ornamented.

At the heart of the VXR is a 1598cc turbocharged engine that produces 189bhp at 5850rpm and a maximum of 192lb ft from 1980-5800rpm for 15-second bursts. Even without overboost, the engine still has 169lb ft. All this is sufficient to propel the 1255kg Corsa VXR to 60mph in well under 7.0 seconds, to 100mph in 16.8 seconds, and to a top speed of 136mph.

In the higher gears at middling revs it has more urgency than the 197, and you only need to look at the 50-70mph times in top for the proof.
Of course, all of this would amount to nothing if the VXR didn’t handle, ride, stop and steer properly, especially since these are areas in which previous VXRs have done poorly in comparison to their rivals. Vauxhall’s engineers have, in their own words, “gone to town” on the VXR’s underpinnings.

The ride height, for instance, is 19mm lower at the back and 12mm lower at the front due to stiffer springs and uprated dampers. The anti-roll bar is 25% stiffer than a regular Corsa’s, the brakes are ENORMOUS by comparison (308mm ventilated discs at the front, 264mm discs at the back). Even the ESP system has been completely recalibrated to allow a small amount of leeway; and if you turn it off completely, says Vauxhall, the chassis has been set up to allow a degree of “controllable” lift-off oversteer that should please the wannabe McRaes.

The most disappointing feature of the Corsa is, unsurprisingly, the steering. The speed of the steering rack (and its level of power assistance) varies between 11 and 13.1, depending on how fast you’re travelling and how rapidly you turn the wheel. The VXR might have super-light steering at parking speeds, but on the move it’s neither as precise nor as well weighted as it could be.

On the other hand, the VXR does have a very natural, well judged sense of balance mid-corner when you’re going for it. Plus, it provides superior comfortability over virtually any road surface. However, in its attempt to liberate the Corsa VXR from some of the Astra VXR’s less desirable traits, Vauxhall may have gone a step too far. Other than a small amount of torque steer, the Corsa is almost too well behaved for its own good.

To be fair though, the faster the speed, the better the Corsa VXR behaves, and that’s only achieved because the chassis is so well balanced. Around a smooth, fast, flowing corner, the amount of grip on offer is genuinely eye-opening. And because the rear is so well tied down you can exploit the grip, you’re safe in the knowledge that when the tires start to give in, they do so progressively and only at the front in the form of mild understeer.

Lurid lift-off oversteer simply isn’t in this car’s vocabulary, no matter what Luton’s engineers may wish you to believe, and mostly that’s a very good thing. Once again, the ‘feel’ of the pedal is not a particularly strong point, but there is no arguing with the power of retardation on offer. Neither can one argue with how the anti-lock system operates so subtly in conjunction with the ESP.

series has always been the perfect enduro motorbike for on road riding and off road people prefer the EXC to the SX model specifically because it is road legal while maintaining the motocross looks, As ktm would not offer a demonstration model for review I had to contact a friend who fetched his down to my house to allow me to provide an conclusive review.

The first thing anyone notices about the KTM 125 EXC six days model is the amazing sound of a perfectly tuned 2 stroke engine its pretty comfy even while riding on roads with a lot of pot holes like most UK roads since the stupid weather we had during beginning of 2010, I prefer to remove the mirrors on the bike before riding it as it makes it feel more like an off-road bike but is still legal so long as you do the life saver all time which is looking over your shoulder before changing lanes or turning to make sure you don’t get clipped from a stupid car driver there are many who nearly hit me they just fail to look out for motorbikes on the roads its really disappointing.

Well back to review about the KTM rather than UK drivers, The six days model although slightly more pricey the graphics on the bike is a lot more attractive to the eye and is really powerful through every gear although any 2 stroke engine are always high maintenance engines and it takes a long time to figure out the correct and perfect mixture of 2 stroke oil and unleaded petrol for optimal performance it will take time getting use to correct mixture but most people pick it up after around 3-4 months of owning any 2 stroke race machine.

The KTM 125 EXC also holds it value very well so even buying second hand you will only save a few hundred unlike many other bikes which dramatically decrease over the time of ownership and KTM’s have always been reliable bikes built with the best of parts although prices for EXC’s brand new start from £3,900 direct from KTM but if bought second hand a year old model you might get one for around £3,000 if your lucky and spend a few weeks looking around rather than rush buying also make sure when buying any Fast bike such as a KTM you may want to inspect front forks to make sure its never been crashed as the power outputted from the KTM 125 EXC Six-Days is more than enough to crash it very easy if you take your eyes of road while doing full throttle.

The KTM 125 EXC and KTM 125 EXC Six-Days are both NOT learner legal due to the BHP of the bike is above the limit set by DVLA in the UK however may be learner legal in other country’s, But its best to confirm with your local police who may provide details on Learner legal BHP limits and you COULD get the KTM bhp restricted but really you wouldn’t want to, You might want to go and try a learner legal 2 stroke such as the Husquvarna WRE 125 which although sounds very similar to the KTM 125 EXC it has a-lot less power meaning its just below the UK legal limit for learner legal riders then progress to a KTM 125 EXC six days once you have passed your test.

The Six days model is not much change apart from cosmetic changes and a few engine tweaks but which your prefer totally depends on your personal taste.

Have you taken road tax, MOT and fuel costs into consideration? What about insurance? Just because you own a top of the line car, this shouldn’t mean you have to pay top prices on your insurance. Sports car insurance is always going to be one of the most expensive policies to buy, but shop around, use comparison websites and make sure you’re getting the best deal for a price that suits you. Some insurance companies won’t handle performance cars so make sure you do your research and the company you have chosen are willing to insure your vehicle.

In the UK, Endsleigh Car Insurance is a good independent comparison website and they will help you find the best quote. Taking into consideration things like annual mileage, type of cover and any no claims bonuses, they offer a variety to suit everyone. They also have offers for huge discounts and agreed valuations.

Some car clubs will offer schemes that are only available to club members, so it’s worth having a look at these to see if they can offer something even better than specialist sports car policies. There are a lot to choose from, so do your homework and make sure any club you may be thinking of joining is right for you.

on the pulse adrenaline 125cc design and it perfect at handling although Like the adrenaline it doesn’t have amazing power but its is very fun on bending roads, As it’s an 50cc engine I am sure you can ride it from age of 16 in the U.K.

With prices starting from £1600.00 its a reasonable price for your first time bike although with a max speed of 45kph on a 2 stroke engine although sounds great it’s generally better for commuting to work or around friends, it’s not something you can take on motorway with a full licence due to lack of top speed and power.

Although if you put after-market exhaust on the bike you may gain up to around 5BHP out of the bike but it’s not something a biker wants to ride on long day out with other riders which may have more powerful engines to leave you behind, but PERFECT for the beginner rider and has a great scream like most 2 strokes.

Although once you start on a low-speed 2 stroke like this most likely you will end up moving to either a husquvarna WRE125 or DT 125 if still on learner legal licence if passed DSA then you may even want something with amazing power such as KTM EXC 125 or 250 which is just amazing 2 stroke power for an enduro bike.

Haven’t noticed anything bad about bike sounds nice and rides very well in wet weather couldn’t test in dry as its been raining in my area most of day for past few days but it handles as well as possible in wet weather so that’s a bonus as UK weather is mostly wet and gloomy.

golf model as he has the old mark 3 golf but due to high price of golf’s, He was only wanting to spend around £4,000 so I was looking around for him on condition i can check it after buying it.

In end found a nice model on 51 plate amazing condition with R32 replica kit plus Air conditioning and cd changer and alloys plus many more basics.

managed to buy it for £3,299 Including 12 Months Tax and M.O.T
so grabbed a bargain in silver and was amazing to drive it just perfect car to get from a to b without worrying about breaking down, Car was purchased with full service history and HPI check was done when viewing car, Was a great buy and just goes to show buying older models of cars within 10 years old they all are pretty good and if serviced annually normally run for ever with little costs of maintaining it.

The love for the German cars is within us all the build quality and technical advantages to German cars has not been matched by very many other car manufactures but as always customers should not buy direct but buy privately that way they may save more money plus do not buy on a car loan you will end up paying more than what the car is worth new to pay back any loans on small repayments and long terms and fee’s.

And it’s not just for the convenience of getting from A to B; many of us view our cars as extensions of our homes, and prefer solitary driving to having passengers. Probably because, like at home, we can break wind, sing badly, talk to ourselves and generally behave as we like within our own little space.

But considering the statistics revealed in the survey, it’s surprising that we do feel so at home in our cars. Almost half (41%) of all drivers surveyed said that excessive restrictions have soured their enjoyment of being on the road – the main culprit being speed humps. Many drivers cited other road users as the fly in the ointment; tailgaters got 70% of the hate vote, while lost drivers got 40% of the blame.

Even though we can’t change it, the weather came in for its fair share of blame too; 39% of drivers hate driving in the snow, and the same amount dislike driving in rain. Often exacerbated by the weather, road conditions are also a very real problem with drivers; 80% of us state that our driving pleasure is tainted by the poor conditions, with potholes and poorly surfaced roads being the main offenders. 66% blame road works though, so it’s a case of “damned if you do, damned if you don’t”…Although it’s not so much the road works that grinds our gears; more the lower speed limits and resulting tailbacks when it’s quite clear that no work is actually going on.

But the underlying concern is unsurprisingly, the cost of actually being a car-owner. In the past year, fuel has risen to astronomical levels, and most drivers have also seen insurance premiums rise by up to 40%. Add these to the ever-increasing cost of road tax, MOTs and congestion charges, and it’s a wonder any of us can afford to run a car at all.

Despite all this, we wouldn’t be without our cars. More than just a means of transport; for many of us, the car we drive is as much an announcement to the world of our personality, status, or individuality, as the clothes we wear.

Thinking of getting a new car for 2011?

Topical

Car Advise

Disposal

Dispose

Donate

Giveacar

Scrap

Obviously people visit Car-Advise.co.uk to look at reviews for new cars and motorbikes on the market. Since then, the blog has experienced NO downtime whatsoever, and has resulted in major page load speed increases.

I personally have not had to delete one bit of spam from the blog comments or forum; CloudFlare automatically filters out spammers and attackers, so I don’t need to worry about being online for hours on end solely to delete spam. CloudFlare makes my job much easier, blocking known spammers which have been flagged on ProjectHoneyPot. 99% of spam has already been caught and flagged on ProjectHoneyPot. What does this mean? Virtually no spam will get through to the blog at all.

Another upside to CloudFlare is the ability to handle large amounts of traffic without slowing down the blog at all. In fact, page speeds have decreased from 2-3 seconds to less than a second, resulting in a major improvement in the reading experience overall.

To anyone who runs a website, I personally recommend CloudFlare. Services are free, so there is no risk or obligation to stick with the plan; however, I can guarantee anyone who tries it will be hooked. They even offer an upgrade to a ‘pro’ package which gives several other benefits, including content caching and even more filtering for attackers targeting your site.

It takes less than a few minutes to fully setup your site with CloudFlare’s services. You need not change anything host-side. Simply register an account with CloudFlare, point your domain’s nameservers to CloudFlare’s, and you’re done. You can then proceed to edit settings in CloudFlare’s dashboard.

Take a few minutes to look at what CloudFlare has to offer, and I’m sure you’ll find many benefits in their services.
Advise is due to expand the amount of reviews posted on The blog.

One of the ways we wish to achieve this is by allowing the visitors of this website to send their own review articles, People already know that owners all around the world who already own that specific car or motorbike will always give the best review and give more detail about that specific car or motorbike and will know all its pros and cons so they can offer a more detailed review while hopefully being able to keep it simple so not to confuse people who are not experienced when it comes to buying a new or second-hand car or motorbike.

We are asking all users to go to our Forums which is located on the navigation bar under pages tab, While logged in you will be able to post your thoughts or suggestions in the feedback section of the forum, All suggestions will be considered.

Mainly we want to find out if users would like to be able to publish their own review articles while gaining documentation and help on how to get demonstration cars or motorbikes for the purposes of writing a review for Car Advise, If they would like to have that implemented to widen the range of articles being posted on the blog thus increasing the amount of users able to use the blog to get some help in finding their next car.

Obtaining free demonstration cars or motorbikes you arrange the time you keep it for normally a few days sometimes longer and manufacture pays the insurance so long as you have a valid driving licence OR you can just write a review about a car or motorbike you own or many if you own a few.

it’s kept the looks from The KS125-23 Model but engine is now colour coded to same as bike The demonstration model I obtained was black and engine was also an exact match of colour which made it look sweet Still the same CG-125 Push Rod engine which has quite a bit of vibrating of the bike when at high revs but if bought purely from transport to work and kept at low RPM’s the vibrations are not as noticeable but soon as you try open it up although it’s not really fast it pulls very slightly but vibrates so much you really don’t want to REV it highly anyway.

Good learner legal Motorbike for riders ages 18 and above for commuting to work but not something you would want to go out on ride with as the vibrations after a bit get beyond bearable vibrations and starts making your thighs numb, The engine is a reliable 4 Stroke if maintained well and serviced yearly, New bikes do not need MOT for three years but with this you will want to service it yearly and Put it through an MOT test to be on the safe side as this bike has a habit of vibrating screws loose over a period of about 5000 miles and things start to fall off such as plastics and other cosmetic things.

The bikes style is a replica of the Honda CBR 125 which looks great from all angles and the chrome style exhaust gives the image of a nice performance exhaust very appealing to the eye but the tyres can be viewed as slightly too narrow for the bike as its very easy to slide on even just slightly damp weather the back tyre if revved hard while on wet surface it will spin out and its very hard if inexperienced to keep it from flipping out and crashing but suppose that totally depends on your riding habits and ability’s.

The Lexmoto XTR S 125 (KS125-24) has many plus and negative points about it but can only give you honest review and let you judge it by your own standards and expectations in a motorbike and what kind of things you will be using the Lexmoto XTR S 125 (KS125-24) for.

All around good bike if maintained well but Do not expect it to last over 5 years as it’s just too prone to breaking and falling to pieces.
more usability for website visitors and keeping things clear and readable.
while maintaining the SEO scoring of our old template new plain text template with very little images has been applied to the blog, which in theory will provide better loading speeds for all visitors and make things a lot more clear and understanding.

Old theme is still installed but is not active but if enough people use contact page requesting the blue theme back, Then it will be re-enabled and new plain text theme scrapped or theme selection could be placed to allow user to choose which theme they prefer to view the website with.

Theme although took ages to prepare it should have no bugs or problems but as always if you encounter any problems viewing Car Reviews blog then use contact page and voice your problems/comments/feedback, Email reply may take around 24-48 hours normally, It’s advised that you only email once and not to email again with same issue if you haven’t currently received a reply ALL emails do get reply’s normally as soon as they are received and read.

Contact page also now has new Captcha which should work correctly should it fail press submit your message will remain in the text boxes and it will generate a new image, All images though are generated with specific rules so they are always made as visible as possible concerning the colours of the foreground and background of image.

I have also changed contact page Ajax loading image to have image height and width attributes as was missing for some reason also worked on Tweet-This plug-in changed a lot about fixing problems that was creating with regards to SEO Ranking nothing visually changed only back-end coding of blog has changed but everything should work as normal.

src="http://www.car-advise.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/nhtopbr.jpg" alt="parts_image" width="236" height="126" />

I Thought would talk to users about locating cheap car parts with very little effort, Many people want to buy cheap replacement parts for there cars or motorbikes but don’t know where to start or go direct to there local manufacture for there car or motorbike parts and end up paying stupid prices.

There are many places to start looking for cheap car parts from part gateways which control many suppliers giving you option to view many quotes in a single window and accepting quote you feel is best priced, Such as http://www.partsgateway.co.uk which is a website which allows many suppliers for specific makes of cars to provide part quotes direct with little hassle.

However i Don’t seem to have found one for motorbike parts but for motorbike parts will require a-bit more time finding an supplier either using sites such as ebay, Or even phoning around local motorbike breakers yards who may have the exact part you need in good condition for a cheap price.

Just be aware though don’t settle for first price shop around otherwise you will end up paying through the roof prices for parts which should be cheap to get hold of.

There are also the problems of if you buy parts yourself who will fit them, Easy if you can’t do it or are unsure take it to you local car or motorbike repair garage NOT a commercial company’s as they will try force you to let them buy the parts but a private garages will get the part you bought fitted cheap and with little fuss.

Write your comments below on any bad experiences you have had with buying parts from your local main manufacture(Dealer) we have all been ripped off by them from time to time.
