Thinking of getting a new car for 2011?

Posted in Topical

Obviously people visit Car-Advise.co.uk to look at reviews for new cars and motorbikes on the market. It wouldn’t be too far off the mark then to assume that many of these people will want to buy a new car, and maybe get rid of their old one at the same time.

Don’t know what to do with your old scrap car? Well how about donating it to charity? www.giveacar.co.uk allows you to do just that.

It is a social enterprise founded by University graduate Tom Chance. Even if you think your car has little worth, the website allows you to scrap your car through an Automated Treatment Facility (ATF).
If the car is roadworthy, thenit will be sold at an auction. Giveacar then receives payment after the disposal or sale, and after deducting a service charge, the profit is then donated to the charity of your choice.

Founder Tom Chance says: “You’d be surprised how many cars of ours come from those who simply want a hassle free way of getting rid of their car.

On a daily basis, we get callsfrom people with cars in full working order, who simply don’t want the pain of selling a carprivately. We welcome any Car-Advise visitor to take a look at Giveacar if they need their car picked up. Remember, you can choose the charity, and we’ve got over 250 to choose from!”

If this sounds interesting to you, then please view the Giveacar website: www.giveacar.co.uk or call 020 0011 1664.

We apologize for the lack of new reviews.

coming-soon

We are terribly sorry for postponing reviews this month. In the U.K there has been a lot of snow and icy weather, so car manufacturers do not want to run the risk of giving out any cars (they are prone to accidents).

We hope that this month’s weather will clear up a bit. Since it’s raining more frequently, and snowing less frequently, applications for more cars have been submitted; as soon as the applications are accepted, the cars will be immediately picked up and reviewed.

Sorry for the delay and we hope you stick around for the new reviews. If you would like to submit a review to this website, you are more than welcome to use the contact page. Once your review is approved, it will be placed on the front page for all to see.

Car-Advise on CloudFlare

Posted in Site related

Many users may have noticed that Car-Advise, not long ago, was put onto CloudFlare.com. Since then, the blog has experienced NO downtime whatsoever, and has resulted in major page load speed increases.

I personally have not had to delete one bit of spam from the blog comments or forum; CloudFlare automatically filters out spammers and attackers, so I don’t need to worry about being online for hours on end solely to delete spam. CloudFlare makes my job much easier,  blocking known spammers which have been flagged on ProjectHoneyPot. 99% of spam has already been caught and flagged on ProjectHoneyPot. What does this mean? Virtually no spam will get through to the blog at all.

Another upside to CloudFlare is the ability to handle large amounts of traffic without slowing down the blog at all. In fact, page speeds have decreased from 2-3 seconds to less than a second, resulting in a major improvement in the reading experience overall.

To anyone who runs a website, I personally recommend CloudFlare. Services are free, so there is no risk or obligation to stick with the plan; however, I can guarantee anyone who tries it will be hooked. They even offer an upgrade to a ‘pro’ package which gives several other benefits, including content caching and even more filtering for attackers targeting your site.

It takes less than a few minutes to fully setup your site with CloudFlare’s services. You need not change anything host-side. Simply register an account with CloudFlare, point your domain’s nameservers to CloudFlare’s, and you’re done. You can then proceed to edit settings in CloudFlare’s dashboard.

Take a few minutes to look at what CloudFlare has to offer, and I’m sure you’ll find many benefits in their services.

Car Advise User Submissions

GoodNews
Car Advise is due to expand the amount of reviews posted on The blog.

One of the ways we wish to achieve this is by allowing the visitors of this website to send their own review articles, People already know that owners all around the world who already own that specific car or motorbike will always give the best review and give more detail about that specific car or motorbike  and will know all its pros and cons so they can offer a more detailed review while hopefully being able to keep it simple so not to confuse people who are not experienced when it comes to buying a new or second-hand  car or motorbike.

We are asking all users to go to our Forums which is located on the navigation bar under pages tab,  While logged in you will be able to post your thoughts or suggestions in the feedback section of the forum, All suggestions will be considered.

Mainly we want to find out if users would like to be able to publish  their own review articles  while gaining documentation and help  on how to get demonstration cars or motorbikes for the purposes of writing a review for Car Advise, If they would like to have that implemented to widen the range of articles being posted on the blog thus increasing the amount of users able to use the blog to get some help in finding their next car.

Obtaining free demonstration cars or motorbikes you arrange the time you keep it for normally a few days sometimes longer and manufacture pays the insurance so long as you have a valid driving licence OR you can just write a review about a car or motorbike you own or many if you own a few.
